The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on April 25 over former President Donald Trump’s claim that he’s immune from criminal prosecution for official acts he undertook while in office. In addition to potentially altering long-standing precedent, the decision could delay the criminal prosecutions President Trump is facing before the election. In New York City, President Trump’s campaign finance trial resumed, with ex-National Enquirer publisher David Pecker returning to the stand.

A grand jury in Arizona indicted 18 Republicans on April 24, including former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows. The individuals are being charged with conspiracy, fraud, and forgery for submitting a document to Congress which the indictment claims “falsely” declared that President Trump beat then-presidential candidate Joe Biden in Arizona’s popular vote during the 2020 presidential election.

Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction has been overturned by New York’s highest court, citing the trial judge’s prejudicial handling of the landmark #MeToo case. The 4–3 decision highlighted the judge’s “egregious” missteps, including allowing testimony on allegations unrelated to the case, prompting the court to order a new trial.
